Hello Gardeners!

Linda Sonner would like to invite the Batavia Plain Dirt Gardeners to come to her garden this coming Sunday, September 20, from 3 to 6 pm.  She said that it was so wonderful to see do many of the group at the Batavia Wildflower Sanctuary last Tuesday night, that she thought a social time in the daylight on a Sunday afternoon would be nice.

Everyone please wear a mask and keep social distance.

Linda says, “As with all gardens this time of year, especially with this past dry summer, my garden is on the decline.  Everyone will have to look past the weeds and sorry looking shed that is due for some tender loving care in the next week or so.”

Also, her lawn is in a state of transition from a monoculture of grass to a more natural future. Transitions may look messy, but they're so exciting!

Come visit a garden in seasonal transition!

Reminder! We hope to see you on Tuesday!

The Batavia Plain Dirt Gardeners meet the third Tuesday of the month, and now, after pause due to the pandemic, we will again gather! For our health and safety, we will wear masks, maintain our social distance and meet outside. Join us!

September 15, 6:30 p.m. at the Batavia Wildflower Sanctuary

Meet by the windmill at the west entrance to the Sanctuary.  Look for the happy gardeners group!  Consider parking in the lot north of the City Hall/Police Department building. (Parking in the Riverain lot is not permitted).

General Meeting:

As we are meeting in person, we will accept membership dues from those who wish to remain active members for the year starting October 1. Dues are $15 for an individual, $20 for a family.  Cash and checks will be accepted.

Upcoming meetings and program ideas will be discussed.

Presentation: September 15, 6:30 pm

Autumn at the Wildflower Sanctuary

Enjoy a walk through the Batavia Wildflower Sanctuary, led by Sarah Kimber, Native Plants Chair. We’ll see what’s blooming, what berries are providing feasts for migrating birds, and more.

Please wear a mask, bring a chair if you wish, and bring your own beverage and/or snack. Bug spray is recommended!  Consider leaving your chair in the car until the tour concludes as there will be time to get it before we gather to talk about future meeting plans and catch up with our fellow gardeners.
