Good Morning Gardeners,

The Wildflower Sanctuary workdays for the next few weeks will be as follows:
Tuesday, July 21
Saturday, August 1

Saturday, August 22

All will start at 8am.  We would love to have you join us.  We are staying 6 feet apart and wear masks if that cannot be done.  On July 21st, we will be in the shade on the east (wooded side) clearing paths and the sidewalk.  If you have them, please bring water, gloves, eye protection, clippers, loppers, weed diggers and a bucket or tote to haul clippings.

Thanks,
Sarah

Open Garden at Rosie McVay’s

Rosie McVay will open her garden from 4 to 6 pm on Tuesday, July 14. This year we have different rules,  Everyone brings their own drink and snack and (chair if they wish).   Come join Rosie (at a respectful distance, masks at times may be helpful!)

Rosie has a peaceful, conservation garden. The garden features a labyrinth in the front garden and in the back a fenced vegetable patch, fruit trees, berries and masses of perennials. A pavilion roofed with solar panels and a water feature with cistern filled with rainwater from the roof of the house complete the conservation theme.

Update

Robin Lang will open her garden from 4 to 6pm on July 8 (Wednesday).  This year we have different rules,  Everyone brings their own drink and snack and (chair if they wish).   Come join Robin (at a respectful distance, masks at times may be helpful!)

Robin has 1/2 acre, part wooded area she has tried for 27 years to rid of prickly plants and get some natives. Her latest project is turning a major part of the back from lawn to native plants. She started this 3 years ago and In the second year a huge black locust tree had to come out, changing shade to sun.  Her yard remains a work in progress, but Robin says it is starting to look better. It's more natural.
