Planning Ahead for February - Three Faces of Tulips

Happy New Year!  Just think in a little over 12 weeks, we could be back in our gardens - maybe.  Until then we all need something to brighten the wintery days not to mention our homes.  What better way to accomplish this than to create a tulip arrangement to lift our spirits, challenge our artistic skills in flower arranging, and pass the time with friends (fellow garden club members) admiring each other's creations.  Nancy Hollmeier has just the challenge for us during our February 16 meeting.  She will help us participate in her program:  "The Three Faces of Tulips"  during which time we will each create 2 flower arrangements to take home and enjoy.

Fee for workshop:   $5 for paid garden club members ( This $5 fee will be refunded on Feb 16 when you participate in the workshop)

$13 for garden club members who have not paid their yearly dues of $15 ($25 for couple) prior to February meeting
                                 (this fee is not refundable)

To facilitate purchase of flowers and vases, please pay the participant fee at our January meeting or before February 6.  This will allow time for Nancy to purchase enough materials for all who wish to participate.

The February meeting will be held at Holmstad in the large meeting room starting at 6:45 pm.

Happy New Year from the Batavia Plain Dirt Gardeners

Happy 2016 to all our friends and colleagues.  The Batavia Plain Dirt Gardeners have a wonderful line up of programming coming your way to help get those gardens, lawns, trees and shrubs ready to go for the new year.

For those wondering what we are going to learn about in these winter months......our next program is January 19th with "How to Properly Prune Your Trees" to get a sneak short peek, go to
youtube.com  and view:

Enjoy the wintery weather for now.  Don't forget to feed our feathered friends (if you enjoy doing that), look at the "winter bones" of now "de-leafed" trees and shrubs, and you might want to try your hand at indoor gardening with houseplants, forced bulbs, and herbs!

Happy New Year!
